Luncheon Club
- Thursday 11.30 - 1.30 pm.
Age Concern Newcastle 's Luncheon Club At Lemington Community Centre.
Now we have moved into the new premises the luncheon club is going from strength to strength. The café area is a pleasure to sit in. Up to sixteen senior citizens attend at the moment. We could cater for more but the transport is limited.
We had a lovely day out last August to the Marina Arms at Amble then onto Seahouses for a couple of hours. For our Christmas treat we returned to East Hartford Community Centre in January.
Everyone attending enjoys getting out and meeting others, having lunch and then indulging in a game of bingo and a gossip. New members would be very welcome if they had transport or could get here on foot.
Going for Gold
- Every Third Wednesday of the Month 12.30 - 2.30pm.
This group is for anyone over the age of 55 (in years only, we are all 18 at heart). It has come about with the help of Active Aging, Elders Council, Community Co-ordinator and some of our community members. We had an excellent pamper day in March with taster sessions of Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Carpet Bowls and Computer Awareness. A new programme of activities will be planned now the summer is over.
Craft Class
- Wednesday 6.30 - 9.00 pm.
Decoupage has taken a back seat for some of our crafters the range of cards now being produced is amazing everything from iris folding to embossing, even some knitting. Some of our crafters also took part in the monthly craft fair held in Newcastle 's Grainger Market.
The class is a self help group run on easy, friendly relaxed lines.
SO COME ALONG AND JOIN IN!
Pie and Pea Supper/ Social Evening
- Second Tuesday of the month @ 7pm
Pie and Pea Supper participation has doubled since the move into the new building and the social element has taken on a different focus. Sheer enjoyment beats the winning of prizes although the flyer is still very popular. Come along and HAVE-A-GO!!!
