HealthWORKS Newcastle is recruiting a Pre-School Deputy Lead to work to deliver all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage programme of learning at Lemington Pre-School. We aim to provide the very best learning opportunities for young children by ensuring a range of stimulating experiences and play activities in a secure and friendly atmosphere.

The successful post-holder is required to work as part of a team under the guidance and support of the Pre-School Leader.

The ideal applicant will hold a recognised Level 3 childcare qualification e.g. Children’s Care Learning and Development or NNEB, CACHE. Any additional childcare qualifications would be an advantage.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a childcare setting.

You will have the ability to support young children, who are at a range of development stages and those who may need extra help to learn and to flourish in the pre-school environment.

This post can be physically demanding on some occasions involving working at floor level, lifting children and some long periods standing.

The post holder is expected to encourage all children to explore the outdoor play area garden and so for some of the time you will be working outdoors in varied weather.

DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service) is mandatory.

  • 37 hours per week, term time only
  • Grade 5, Point 11 (£16,228 pro-rata per annum)
  • Central base: The Lemington Resource Centre, Lemington, NE15 8RZ
  • Fixed Term until 31 July 2017 which is reviewed on an annual basis
