The Lemington Centre – a Healthy Living Centre

Our lovely Lemington Centre opened for business in January 2005 and our aim is to provide space, services and activities for the people of Lemington and the surrounding areas. You can look through the info on this site to find out all the detail of what we do, when we do it and what it costs…

If you can’t find what you need to know from the site then please ring us on 0191 264 1959 and ask us directly and we will try to help in any way we can.

Why not find out about becoming a Centre volunteer?

Being a Healthy Living Centre we aim to help our users find ways of keeping themselves and their families away from the doctors. Being healthy isn’t all about being physically well though, it can also mean being mentally well too.

Taking more exercise can help with stress too and we encourage everyone to either use our  friendly gym or to join in our classes.

Our Physical Activity Team will help you make the most of your time in the gym by talking with you about what it is you’d like to do and then helping design a programme to help you make that happen.

Exercise is also very good for people with health problems such as high blood pressure or diabetes. You can ask your GP or Practice Nurse to send you down and see us on the GP Exercise on Referral Programme.

We’re focused on families and welcome little ones at the Parent and Toddler group whilst from two and a half the kids can attend play group here until they’re old enough for primary school. At that stage we have activities for kids after school and in the holidays.
